I tried the PD Laughlin course but I don't find it all that fascinating and didn't learn anything new. I was thinking about trying the Micon course or Phil's Black Belt Course. Has anyone had experience with any of these? Hellmuth is respectable and might have some good advice. Any help greatly appreciated.

Phil Helmuth is over-rated..
I know Negreanu just wrote a book, and he's the guy I most respect for getting reads on players.

Are you intent on the "course" format?
Reading and playing hands is bread and butter.
Oh, and don't buy the Micon system.

It isn't course format, but I liked Harrington on Hold'em. I haven't ever gotten the workbook though.
I don't think experience can be beaten. If you already have the fundamentals you just need to play and adapt to situations.
The adaptation is what can't be read. Knowing when you're sitting at a table where rags are regularly stealing blinds and trips are routinely slow-played helps a lot.
Only paying attention to the game, observing and applying the observations can teach you that kind of intuition that will in turn, help you adapt whatever style you are most comfortable with to the situation at hand.
