Default Very nasty WTSD% Need Help Please!

Ok guys I desperately need some help here. I have been reading around the web, and have noticed that most people believe that a good WTSD% is around 25-35% with a WSD% of 50 or better. I play mostly $2.20 sngs and mtts. If anyone else plays these a lot, they know that there are a lot of bad players that will call every street with bottom pair or just draws. I regularly see players with a VPIP of 40+ that being said, would my WTSD% not naturally be higher because of this? Am I playing the wrong way against these players, or is it because of their stats? If I am playing the wrong style, what would you guys suggest that I should do to lower it. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

This is a very hard question to answer. There are no rules for WTSD and Wonat SD.

I'd say most players have a WTSD ranging from 25 to low 30s, but WTSD and Won at SD will depend on so many factors.

Some players check back tons of flops, and call turns and check back rivers. These players will get to SD more than someone who bets flop, cks back turn, folds rivers. Similarly some ppl check back flop, call turns and have a choice to value bet thin or not on the river. Those that don't vbet thin and choose the showdown will have a higher won at SD than those that bet and sometimes get called and sometimes get folds.

If you have a tighter range overall then you should prob have a higher WTSD and Won at SD than someone who is looser but plays in a similar fashion etc etc.

coles notes: worry about winnings and losses, unless you really think your WTSD/won at sd is a source of losses.

keeping in mind it is a small sample size (almost 700 games) I have a positive roi of 5%, what I believe I am thinking is that if my wtsd was lower perhaps my win at sd would be higher than 50.5% which it currently is at now. does that sound right, or am I thinking about it all wrong?

What is your river call efficiency stat?

2.53 I have actually never looked at this stat before, hope its not horrible. If it is bad then at least I would know a new area to work on.

That is VERYYYYYY high. There isn't a strong consensus on what the best ratio for this stat is. Technically it just has to be >1, which means you are making +EV river calls.

If your river call efficiency is THAT high, that means that you are folding in a lot of spots that you could otherwise be calling. Remember, even facing a river pot size bet you only have to be good 33% of the time. So a call that is correct 40% would be losing majority of the time but still the correct call.

Again this is a cash game specific perspective. This might be different in sng's, given you don't get that money back once you lose it. so maybe a river call efficiency of 2.53 isn't sooo bad for tourneys, but I have no clue.
