    Default Variance This Weekend

Just wanted to drop in a graph for new players to show them just how turbulent results can be in the short term and reinforce how important proper bankroll management is. This graph is totally standard and we've got a bit of everything going on here:

    - huge downswing to start (maybe 2-3 tilt stack offs though)
    - upswing
    - breakeven EV spell where I ran well above expectation
    - breakeven EV spell where I ran well below expectation
    - upswing

I agree that ppl definitely way under-estimate variance! Expect LONG LONG stretches of what you perceive to be either run good or run bad (up to 100k hands even).

Absolutely, bankroll management is very important. Sometimes no matter how good you play you will still lose!

There's a guy I know who ran about 3.5 ptbb/100 under AIEV at full-ring 100nl/200nl for about 300k hands. Something to think about.
