Well I finally bit the bullet and took most of my bankroll off FT and onto PS. So I'm starting with $100 and working my way up through the stakes following Spoons advice. So far I'm pretty excited cuz I've won 2.5 BI's in less than 30 minutes. Well I am hoping this helps me out cuz I've been playing kinda stressed as i was worried about my BR so much.
Current BR $102.55

Hey Bigspenda would you share you're opinion of if I would be better off playing 6 max or fr. I've not been able to find a thread that addresses the pros and cons. Like to know what you think?

To be honest with ya I don't know that I've developed a style of my own. I like to think I am a capable noobie who is building upon his game. I asked Bigspenda, and really anybody else their opinion because I'm interested in the best way to learn and build my BR.
Mainly Swiggidy I hope to learn from others and avoid as many of the mistakes as possible.
Any helpful advice you may have would be appreciated as well!

I've noticed since I changed to 6max theres generally alot more fish.
You Have to play more hands and deal with alot more marginal situations.
People say dipping into 6max is good for your fullring game as you have to get used to playing against people with wider ranges.
I've only played about 50k hands, 10k of which have been at 6max. I like 6max alot better, as there are more opportunities to isolate players and be very aggresive in position.
But also it has higher variance...

Theres my 2cents.

I'm not even convinced there is more variance.

If you're still learning basics FR is probably better because it's more hand and less read based.

If you're more math based (i.e. like structure) you might be more inclined for FR. If you feel you can adjust well, maybe you like 6max.

If you have a grasp of basics and feel you can't use your "skill" maybe you should try 6max.

No one can tell you what's best. You have to play and figure this out for yourself.

I'm not sure about the variance thing. IF you had a good style and were playing vs decent+ players then yeah it's more variance. BUT, if there are a bunch of nits trading coolers at FR, and some donks tossing chips at 6max, which really has less variance?

You have a good point swiggidy, At low levels there probably about the same. The cooler trading was the reason I shifted to 6max. Like I'm folding a set on the flop. ahhh nah.
