I feel like I ended up making a horrible decision here, input please?

Edit: Villain is brand new to the table, he's been seated for about 3 hands.

This is really deepstacked, and TPTK on a T high board isn't exactly a hand I want to commit 100BB with against an unknown; I'm folding here.

What range did you put him on on the turn? This stinks like a set.

Yeah call flop/raise turn is usually a very strong hand. It's like the universal "I have a set" line.

Given that this is a really drawy board, it's a good bet on both the flop and the turn, but we have to fold to the raise here.

Fold fold fold. I need more information on this villain before I'm commiting hear with a highly succeptable top pair. JJ+ shows up way to often for my taste.

My main problem was establishing a range. I was pretty sure I could rule out large pockets because of the smooth call pre and on the flop. I had him on AT+, 33, 66-99, perhaps a few 45 suiteds, and a bunch of spade draws, but I had no idea what spades to place him on, which made it very hard to guess how often he'd be raising with a made hand, draw, or air. If I had played longer with him I would have had a better idea, but he was brand new and I was lost.

You can't rule out anything...you don't have enough information on him. I've seen more than my fair share of villains flat AA from the BTN. It's even more likely with a holding like TT-QQ.

You'd be surprised how often players just call behind with TT+. A lot of times they want to trap with AA or KK, and sometimes they just don't know whether JJ is worth a 3bet. TBH I don't really play anything the way your opponent played this as a standard line. Maybe 54.

When lost, err on the side of saving large amounts of chips in marginal spots, IMO..

As has been said, the line the vill took is typically a very strong one, and we don't know his play so we can safely give him credit here and fold.
