I have searched, but cannot find, any resource for hand-by-hand records of players in tournaments. I think that it would be very educational to see, hand by hand, from beginning to end, just how the people that made the final table got there. A blow by blow record showing every fold, call, raise, and from what position, but not necessarily their actual cards. So we could see not only the top finishers general STYLE, but just how many hands were played, what percentage were called, were raised, how the style of play evolved as the tournament progressed, etc. For instance, I would love to stand behind Phil Hellmuth with a notepad and log down every move he made in the recent tournament he won! Has ANYONE, any of the "name pros" done anything like this?

some players on here have posted their hand histories from tournaments, you could go through those. They will be much more beneficial since they show the cards they hold and you could get some general notions on their train of thought.

to do this you would have to have PT and watch every table each person that makes the FT plays on

I'm not entirely sure, but I think Stars shows replays of final tables of some of its big tournaments, where you can see everyone's hole cards (or at least everyone who gives consent for this). I know it's not for the whole tournament but this might still be helpful to you.

Thanks everyone. But what I am more interested in in not exactly how the actual winners played each hand by the cards, but how the "winningest players", aka Hellmuth, Ivy, Hanson, how they play in general. When I hear that Hanson is super aggressive, well, I see lot's of super aggressive players on line that are definately no Gus Hansen! I would like to know, if say, what is the typical first hour of a tournament look like for Gus? Over say 1o tournaments, before first break, what does his play look like in general? Does he fold 75% of the time? Does he limp or raise more when he enters? Do these top players NEVER go all in in the early stages, or is it common? Stuff like that....

Their styles are too complex for you to understand, even if you saw their hands youd probably draw the wrong conclusions and try to pull their moves without the information that they get off reads, that you simply arent good enough to pick up on. It won't help your game right now, read books and play. Also i dont think theres such a database

Thanks Jisu, but I will reserve the right to decide what is or is not too complex for me to understand! Kinda presumptuous, assuming.... and insulting. I was asking if anyone knew of a source, book, website, etc., with this information, not what you thought of my cognitive ability or intelligence quotient. So thanks again for taking the time to reply, but that kind of reply really ain't helpful...

I think the best you'll be able to do is to watch the first quarter shows of the PPT. By no means is it complete and you only get to watch one 'featured' table, but it seems like you're wondering how the top aggressive players play when the blinds are small relative to the stacks-- something you never get to see on WPT and only get small glimpses of on WSOP ME shows. The final table show of the first championship just aired (won by Jon Juanda) but I found that the very first show was the most interesting one. You got a little insight into how Greg Raymer plays (quite aggressive if it's folded to him any he's got anything better than Q high or two connected cards from what we were shown. He busted on a bluff representing the hand that was held by the guy who busted him, if memory serves). I was a little surprised at how aggressive he was so early, especially with an equally aggressive and skilled player immediately to his left (Paul Magriel) but the table was pretty tight, so that may have just been him adjusting to the situation and trying to keep Magriel beaten down.
