If a similar subject has been posted then i apologise. This is my first post but wanted some opinions.
I've been playing online for about a year and would consider myself to be an average but improving player so i am right down the 25/50c areas on cash games and 5/10 dollar buy ins for tourneys.

what do u guys see as the best route for building bankroll and generally making more from p oker.
Cash games are obviously slower with less action and fewer hands played but generally nice payouts with monsters, but some of the tourneys have a much more attractive prize for the winner. Am i maybe aiming above my station trying to profit from mtt with big prizes when i should be building slower and steady with cash games ?

What ya reckon?

Play what you enjoy.

It sounds like you enjoy the idea of hitting a big jackpot. Go play tourneys.

May not be the best for a bankroll (time invested vs EV is usually not good), but if you enjoy it then that's all that really matters, no?
Up my bankroll - buy Saints Row.

it really depends on where you think your biggest edge lies.
(welcome to FTR btw!)

Personally, im of the opinion that if you are a competent poker player you will find a bigger edge in cash games, because when you pwn a fish, you do it for his whole stack, and you can do it again and again.
SNgs and tournaments still provide a big edge for a competent poker player but imo not as big as a cash game player.
SNG players will argue with me no doubt, but really we need to know where your bankroll is at. The easiest way still to build a 2k-odd bankroll is to play cash games, flop sets and bonus whore all at the same time.
Doing that can give you a 2k bankroll in about 3months if not less.
SO realy, it depends, but i would recommend cash games so long as you have the bankroll and are a competent poker player.

When I started I found playing SnGs the best option for two reasons.
1) You get a lot more experience in SnGs.
2) You will only lose your tourney fee if you bust out.

Cash games will make you more money (if you're good enough) but there is more risk to your bankroll.

Try both and see which you like better.

Cash game is where it's at
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
