I have worked my self up from 100 to 230 dollars over about 70 $5+0,50 sng's and tournaments.

The last 15-20 I've been in the money over 50 percent of the time.

Is it time to try the $10+1 and be ready to drop back to $5 if hitting say $150 again or should I stick with $5 to get more experience even though I have the BR to move up?

Forgot to say, if that matter, that i play att UltimateBet.

Post this int he trouney forum (Its just cooler) =D.

first off I try to play with 25 buyins at any one level. So that would be 275 to be "properly rolled" fo the 11s. But in reality having 20 buyins should be more than enough. Beware however of hte inevitable slide you will run into, and be prepared to drop down a level in order to rebuild ur bank roll.

The real question is, however, are you of the proper mental state to be playing the 11s? Will dropping 44 dollars bnother you mroe than dropping 22 dollars? Will dropping 22 dollars bother u more than dropping 11 dollars. You might be rolled, but the real question is how you will handle a slide. If you can handle lsoing more money while playing the same number of tournaments, then you should be fine. THe compeitiotn does not differ very much. The amount of experience you will gain sticking at the 5.5s will be neglible to what you will gain by just playing the 11s.

im not sure if i covered everything, if i didnt, please tell me.

I'm also still new here. You're doing really good and all but I would still say you need to keep playing the $5 until you are 100% confident in yourself and your BR allows you to take bad days in a row.

$230 can go fast with $10 SnGs on a couple bad days in a row.

Just my opinion but wait for more people to chime in, I'm still learning.

Another thing, my past 19 10+1 SNGs, i have placed First twice, and third once, which means overall, I have dropped something like 90 bucks.

Are you mentally ready for that type of slide, and can your BR support it? I think those are the two most important considerations.

(p.s. I finalyl crakced and told everyone that im running horribly. One thing you should work on is not letting bad beats and bad runs get to you. Poker is a game of who can keep their heads on the best. I gave in and just had to share =D )

Thank you both, good points. I can afford to loose the money but I would not like it since I want to build the BR by winning not redepositing so maybe I should stick at $5 for a while more.

I've read in another thread that once you move to a new level you should stick to it because of the small differences in strategies needed. But if there is not much difference between $5 and $10 sng why not use the same concept as stock traders and spread the risks, in this case it would mean that you play 25% of the time at the 10$ and 75% of the time at $5, has anyone thought about that? That would give you the opportunity to win more at the $10 while not risking to loose $10 every game. The 25/75 might not be correct numbers.

You dont want to do this for 2 reasons...1 unless you are a highly disciplined individual it will not work...2 once you see your BR soar or drop you will go to one or the other quickly...I think you should stick with one and move up when your BR dictates.
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

TLR is an unknown quantity at this point
I would try the $10. If you see that you are not feeling confifent enough to play them after one or two then drop back to the $5 ones.
At least my impression of the $10 as compared to the $5 ones in PokerStars - Ther $10 ones are a bit tougher, you get pretty much the same level of bad players, but the good players are better at the $10 then the $5
