ok.. i've been playing online for 5 weeks now, I started with $100 and am now on $700, i've done this playing at .05/.10 NL and just recently i've move up to .1/.2 NL.

The problem is I'm starting to have days of $80-$100 loss, which I can easily make back, but I'd be well over $1000 if it weren't fpr these days. It happens because I lose a little at the .1/.2 and get frustrated waiting around for hands to make it back and continue making a profit. So I do the move up to make it back quickly, and end up losing a buy in at .25/.50 or at .50/.1.

Is there strategys anyone has to control themselves with problems like this? Or do I need to just kick myself and stop being so damn stupid?

also how am i going as far as profit for the amount of time playing.. i play 2-3 hours most days for the 5 weeks.

At those stakes, that much profit is doing very well. Nice job.

Moving up before you're ready is bad, bad, bad. That said, $700 is enough to support play at .25/.50 IF you're playing well and are comfortable. Bare in mind that you're likely to see better players moving up (and some have said that .25/.50 at Party ends up having tougher competition than .50/1).

It's possible that the poor results you're seeing are just cold cards. Do you save hand histories? I'd suggest you do, and start reviewing them. Then you can tell if you're playing badly, or just hitting bad cards. If it's the former, address the problem.
I run a training site...

Moving up when you've already demonstrated you're playing badly is doubly dumb. Leave the table, have a walk, drink some water, then, if you come back, make sure it's for low stakes in case you're still on tilt.

The single most important factor when building a bankroll, is patience. You just have to accept that there will be losing days. You have to take it on the chin and get on with it. Doubling your stakes every time you lose is a recipe for disaster.

The whole point of bankroll management is to ensure that you take the bad days in your stride and it does not change the way that you are playing. There are many many threads here with great advice on bankroll management.

It took me nearly 4 months to build my bankroll from $50 to $600 at 0.05 / 0.10 NL, playing for about 10-15 hrs week. So you are progessing a lot quicker than I did. I am now playing $25 NL on Party and Empire. I would recommend you do the same. In my first 2 months I have cleared $650 in bonuses alone.

the site I'm playing on doesnt allow me to save histories, which is really annoying. and as i'm only 17.. i cant actually go on to another site yet. (all of my money is on the site and i can't cash out until i'm 18) I do intend to get onto stars and party once i'm 18 and can move some of the money around with a neteller account.

I am fairly sure that I'm not making errors, but when i do play on the higher level tables I wonder that because i havent played there enough I dont know how the game differs from that at the low limit games. I tend to find that I over bet my big hands and get no action where as the same bet could expect multiple callers at a .05/.1 game... and because I'm not getting paid off on the huge hands i just steadily go down and then i'll have top pair top kicker or a set, and get some chips in only to fold/lose to a chaser with a flush or straight... and ultimately dont make a profit at the higher table. Perhaps I'm just not spending enough time at the tables to get anywhere??

cheers for your advice guys
