hey im completely new to this site and ive only been playing online for a few years so bare with me here....

i have read plenty of information on this site saying that tight play is better for onling profit and i was just wondering if anybody could go into a little more depth for me....

i started and still am a somewhat tight player though i try to play according to the situation and it seems that many of the bigger stacks at tables i play are very aggressive and gain quickly

is this just because of the style??? either with big or go broke??? or am i missing something???

It sounds like you're confusing being tight with being passive. They're not the same thing. You can be tight AND aggressive.

Welcome to FTR, btw.

sorry about that... as i said im a bit new and havnt quite picked up all of the poker language im just looking for a decent framework of a strategy that i can work with and find my own playing style with

as of right now i play about 30% total hands which from what ive read is on the higher end

i play very low no limit on stars at .10, .25 blinds for 25$ buy-in any suggestions to help create a more solid playing style ?

if you arent american, leave stars ASAP.
If you are, you are going to need to get good pretty quick, do that by being tight.

I suspect you may not have the bankroll for the stakes you play at - unless you have $500+, go and have a look at the bankroll management stick in the beginner's forum - it might save your poker career.
