What information about other players do you try to remember while playing?

Im asking because it seems alot of people write down or try to remember actual hands someone played or how they played them. I never do that and I'm kinda wondering if it's actual any useful, or maybe even a bad thing.

Rarely do I play with someone long enough to see him play exactly the same hand more than once or twice, plus most people mix up their game alot.
To be honest, when I think about it I would like an opponent who writes down what hands I play how, because I always mix up my game alot, not just mixing up in the sense of raising AA with 3bb and then the next time with 4bb. I might be raising AA 4bb preflop, but in other situations I might just call (for example if I know an aggressive player behing me will raise and thin out the field anyways) or push all-in right away (if I think there is a good chance I get a 1 caller) and so on.
It will be very hard to put someone on AA who checked preflop...especially for someone who wrote down 'raises AA 4bb preflop' ^^

Im not saying I dont remember things about my opponents, but more general stuff usually. Like what tools does he actually use? Is he capable of checkraising, slowplaying, does he bet for value, does he chase draws with or without odds?
What type of player is he, aggressive, tight, maniac and so on...but really only general stuff. Even that is probably to much when you meet someone who switches gears alot.

Should I remember or write down actual hands? I dont see how it would help me, but maybe someone has good arguments for it?
I mean really unusual played hands I will remember, but even then you cant rely on it...maybe he was steaming? Or mixing up his game?

Right now I try to give more value to the current situation than to what the player did in previous hands.
