i play mostly SnG's but i want to start playing more cash games since it seems many of you high rollers do. i noticed a post about table selection. what exactly do the stats for a "good" table look like? and what does the 44/7/2 stuff mean?

those numbers are VP$IP/PFR/AF

VPIP = volentarily put $$$ in pot (as a percentage). In other words how tight/loose they are. This is almost the same as the percentage of flops they see.

PFR = Percentage of hands raised preflop.

AF = Aggression Factor. The ratio of bets and raises to checks and calls. The higher it is the more aggressive they are.

Generally Tightish players will see less then 20-25% of flops with 25% being reasonably loose. Decently aggressive players will raise at least 7% with good players usually having their PFR within a few percentage points of their VPIP.

A good table is a table with plenty of loose players. Exactly how many depends on the stakes you are playing at. At high stakes a table of tight-aggressive players will be happy to play with one or two loose fish. At the lower stakes a good table probably has at least 2.
You also have to consider that there is such a thing as a bad seat at a good table. If there is a really loose aggressive player sat at a table you probably want to be on it, but if you are on it you want to have position on him. Its no use sitting down on his right and folding your cbets to his flop minraises every time.
