So I deposited the extra $100 into my account on Party Poker to give me the BR to play $25NL after they booted me from the Beginner Tables.

I was 4 tabling the $10 tables previously, and it was so fishy it didn't really matter what table I sat at. Just join the list and take the first seat.

I want to change that. I'm now just 1-2 tabling. The Party Poker lobby doesn't seem to offer many stats when viewing tables, only hand/hour and avg pot size. What should I look for when trying to find a profitable table to play at? I'm a Tag, probably too TAG (5-8%VP$IP), but thats an issue for another post.

And yes, many of you are probably saying..."psh... the $25 tables are so fishy it still doesnt matter" but I'd like to start practing good table selection now so I have the ability when I do move up to where it matters.

Many Thanks

Miffed22001 is on a distinguished road
generally your looking for tables that have a high percentage of players seeing the flop and fairly sized pots. This suggests a lot of limpers and calling stations. And these are the guys you want becasue you can bust there asses when you flop a good hand.

Yea, Im not all that great at table selection, recently I just add my name to about 10 tables with high pot averages and sit at the first 8 that come up. Table avg gives you a very general ideas of tables that are good to play at, but you do have to sit at them for a bit to figure out if they have a good balance to them. So usually I just play those tables and then swap out any that I feel are still too tight.

Again, nothing too scientific, just some basic things I usually do.
