Post subject: Table Buyins: How low do you go?

How low do you let your buy-ins get before you top back up, or do you infact never top back up?
I play .1/.2 nl where max buy-in is $20, if I get lower than $17 i top back up to $20 so i can build my stack up above the buy-in which i think has many benifits over having a 75% or even 50% stack size.

seriously tho if a few premium hands / cont bets go wrong the stacks generally now 75% -85% where ill top up...
I would hate to get a nutty hand and get someone allin when I have a stack lower than 75% of the buy-in. ok I wouldnt hate it but I could of made another $5 (25% buy-in) - assuming they have a full stack.

I do the same thing, if I drop below 2/3rd buyin, or somewhere around that vicinity.

Usually once I'm at half my buy-in, I re-evaluate and decide whether or not I want to stay at the table or leave. If I want to stay, I rebuy. If not, I'm gone.

75% is my mark.. i'll rebuy then.. like you say it sucks to hit the nuts and not get full value for it.
theres a guy on my site that never buys in for more than 20% of the max  weird.

If there are players at the table with more than the max I'll add even half a buck after each hand is completed, you just never know when you are gonna double up. Yesterday I forgot to reload for while and suddenly I called a raise, hit top set on a rainbow flop and it was pushed twice after I checked it. I was at $170 instead of $200 so another 60 profit woulda been better.
1-2 dollars doesnt make a diffirence but why not just click and add whenever you are below the max?

I add whenever i drop to around $22 on a $25 table.
Maybe it's just paranoia, but if my stack is $20 and I get AA and win against a big stack, I have just essentially screwed myself out of a free $5.

Infact, there should be an auto-top-up feature... just last night my first 2 hands at one table where crazy, against the same op:
I had QQ and triped up, 4 to the straight was out by the river (which ofcourse he had...) so my stack went straight from $20 to 12.5
The very next hand im dealt AKs and flop a FH, he must of hit the flush which was out on the turn and we got all-in, so my stack was back up (tho now to $25) $5 over the buyin which is nice, but if I would of been able to top up after the previous hand I could of profited a hell of alot more

I understand the thought of doubling up, but it can also go the other way. I always start with the typical buy in for that table. 2 situations happened to me today, where if I were playing with a larger amount I would have lost a ton. Both times lost to bad beats on the river, I'm talking like 2 outs each time, and they hit them. So instead up being really pissed about losing a decent chunk of change, I just reloaded, knowing I'd win it right back, and I did. Losing that much didn't put me on tilt.

thats it.. i lost my biggest pot ever a few nights back cos we had deep stacks of 2x max buy-in.. but I was favourite when all our chips went in so I was fine with it. (his ak outdrew my KK allin preflop)

I guess if you win big hands more often than you lose them, re-stacking is a smart move. My current run is probably 2:10 on the win:lose front, so I've been quite grateful not to have restacked lately

I like to top back up if I feel I got a good feel for the players on the table. If Im at an early stage I like to wait a little. Lets say I sit down and loose 20 x the first thing I do. In that case I like to hang around a little bit more to get a chance to get some reads before I rebuy. Right?
But I think that you should rebuy as soon as you loose a couple bucks if you like the table.
