This happens every now and then in my NL ring game... say you have a KTo in the small blind, have a few limpers and you call to see the flop. The flop comes king high, all suited. What do you do? I have a tendency to give up after this, as I have been burned many times in this situation.

Check, and give a free card??
Bet, and get called? (are they chasing, or setting a trap?)
Bet, get raised? (I'm outta there)
Check raise?

I'm not sure, especially since I or anyone else did not raise preflop. I feel like I have no way of getting info for the turn play. The situation would be different of course, had I raised preflop with position.

Default to fold. It's a limp pot and you have top pair weak kicker.

Top pair, questionable kicker + small pot + big filed + coordinated board + out of position = fold

Even if there is a decent chance you have the best hand, you don't want to get involved in a large pot with a hand as weak as top pair with a 10 kicker, which is what is likely to happen if you pursue this pot. You should check-call if the bets are small, and check-fold if they aren't.

yea, bad position, uniform flop, limp pot, there could be a million possibilities better than KTo.

OK guys same question but you have a set or top two pair....what then?
You should never wave at people you don't know, cause what if they don't have a hand. They'll think you're cocky. "Look what I got motherfucker, this thing is useful, I'ma go pick somethin up."

You have the best hand until someone gives you reason to believe otherwise.

Be concious that your set or two pair is no long a big pot hand, but it can still win some loose change and you have a draw to fill up and win a monster if your opponents do have the flush.

Fnord explain...If you have a set and play it like it's the nuts that means he's gonna go allin if raised. Logic / Pot Odds / My BR says hell no.

Please explain your theory
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

Assuming there's no straight or flush on the board, chances are extremely good that you have the best hand. You will make money in the long run pushing in these situations.
