If you stick to 0.02/0.04, it won't cost you much money to learn and its more fun/effective than play money.

If you just camp full tables using starting hand requirement described on FTR, theres no reason you should loose your 300 BB(12$ for 0.04)

I would advise you to deposit 12$, then keep on play 0.04 until you reach 30$, then keep on 0.10 until 60$, then keep on 0.20 until 150$. If you go below 150 BB, move down a limit.

This process will:
#1 get you a decent BR for other games like SNG and NL whitout investing too much money out of your pocket
#2 teach you the game and get you used to it, work out your skills/patience
#3 Make your "learning fees" as minimal as possible, see none

Your % of hands played should be below 25%.

Overall, even if your play aint that good at first, its normal. BUT USE BANKROLL MANAGEMENT NO MATTER WHAT.
