Ive been playing Limit for a while now, dabling with NL lately and i'm trying to improve my online play. My main snag seems to be dealing with the aggressive bettors. I have been breaking even playing at PP $25 and $50 tables by being tight and slow playing big hands. I find that i fold alot of hands that i see i would have won due to very aggressive betting. There seems to be alot of people like this, and im sure its been covered somewhere that i should be reading. The two books i have are SSH and HE for advanced players both by both skalanksy(sp?). Any suggestions or questions would be appreciated. Thanks, btw, i have been lurking for a while now and love these forums.

Best advise I can give you is find a table without those aggressive bettors. Find a passive table that likes to see lots of flops, and likes to slow play their high pairs to get maximum value.
While limit is a game of pushing small edges hard, no limit is a game of getting max value from your large edges.

The good thing about coming from a limit background is that in limit you are in so many marginal situations. In NL you are in those situations a lot, just not as often, but they are definitely more marginal (am I making sense?).
No limit is a game of instinct, numbers can only take you so far. At a full table you should be playing very tight, but every hand you play it should be played aggressively, especially if you play shorthanded like I do. *Always* try to be aggressor except in situations where you need to call to hit a set with your small pair or flop a nice hand (such as a suited connector). The game is all about implied odds. I suggest you play lower limits until you get the hang of things.

No Limit is a whole other universe. You need to play a lot of hands to get a feel for it. In No limit, you create fold equity by destroying pot odds. In No limit, you make hidden hands to maximize implied odds. No limit offers a read through betting patterns more than limit is capable of for obvious reasons. My first ring experience was in Limit. I was afraid to lose a large amount at one time, so I started there. It wasn't for a couple months that I dabbled in NL ring. I've never looked back. Just keep playing. Experience is the key. Soon you'll learn to be the one pushing other people off winning hands.
