Quick HH I just wanted some feedback on.
NL $10 table 10 handed. Dealt 33 in early position so I limp hoping to see a cheap flop. Flop comes down JA3 with two spades (A and J). I'm thinking I'm set with two others involved. First player bets 6xBB, second calls, I raise to 12xBB and they both call. Hmm. Next card is a K spades. Checked around to me, I bet 8xBB again and the next guy raises me to 16xBB. Other guy calls.
First instinct is this guy had 2 pair and hit a monster flush or even a straight. Maybe the other guy did too. So I laid it down.
River card was junk and turns out they both had one pair of ACES!? No flush draw, NOTHING. Pissed me right off. Anyway, any way to play this differently - I think I did everything I should have including laying down with so many scare cards and the aggression from both. Any advice?

You minraise. That is baaaad. If I follow correctly, pot on the flop is $0.30.. first guy bets $0.60, second guy calls.. now the pot is $1.5 and you raise it for $1.2?! That means each of them has to call for only $0.6 more. Make it atleast a decent raise of $2.
And your laydown.. you have a set, even if they have a flush, you still have outs to a boat (full house) on the river, so he minraised you, no need to lay that down either.

I agree with everything jackvance said. Reraise more. When they just minraise you you have odds to chase the boat.

As said earlier, it's possible you should of raised more to make them pay to draw against you.
Also, it's probably incorrect to fold here because I'm fairly certain you have the pot odds to call based on having 10 outs. Check out the Poker Strategy section on odds if you aren't sure what we're talking about.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

even if you dont have quite the right pot odds, you definatly have the implied odds. You will stack a flush and probably a straight too if you fill up here.

Def had the pot odds to call for the boat. Just sigh and call. If they have a flush and you make a boat on the river you can stack them. Implied odds are great. Even if the pot odds were worse I would still at least call. You can't give up the opportunity to take their stack. Just don't get stacked if you don't fill up... I would probably call the river as long as it wasn't another flush card as well if the bet wasn't too big hoping that they didn't have the flush.

See that's why I ask these questions. I never even considered the full boat option, never mind how many outs I had towards one. Plus you're right about the raise I made. Next time I will think differently. Thanks!
