say the cards on the table are 5,6,7,8,9
player #1 has cards 6 and 9
player #2 has cards 2 and queen

who wins?
does it go by the kicker?
or does the player with an actual pair or 2 pairs win?

It would be a split pot. They would share the money evenly. You get to use the best five cards whether they are on the board or partly in your hand . Welcome to FTR you can learn alot here. Like the FTR saying says "Making Money is Fun"
