I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I just put money back on paradise poker and had gone and played the 200$ max buy in. I was wondering if there was a good guide to know when its safe for a player to reach the "next level". I can usually handle the 100$ max tables pretty well, the play is different when the money gets bigger, people seem to care a lot less. Does anyone here have any good pointers how to adjust to the larger stakes?

you need to adjust your game to the blinds....Its not that people care less, but the higher blinds induce higher bets to create the same pot odds...alot of people who jump up tables get in with small bankrolls and hope to get lucky and hit hands....you can't be successful doing that in poker, you won at the lower limits be being selectively agressive, keeping pressure on players, not hoping to get lucky by hitting nut hands....so why would you toss your strategy against arguably better players at higher limits????

thats the biggest mistake i see.....caring too much about the $$ to play the game correctly....

gregor, i still play the same way i always have, i was just wondering if there was a way of adapting faster. Obviously i know i have to just spend time there and the rest will come. Do you remember the first time you sat at a poker table? I was nervious as hell, its the same way when the limits go higher, you need to play higher limits to make more money, this i know, its just the adaptation factor. Anyways I played agian tonight and seemed to handle myself pretty well, so now on to trying to own it.

i mess around with different limits (i play NL exclusively), and i find once you get in the mindframe of betting off of % of pot, creating pot odds...you forget quickly the absolute dollar amounts.
