without yelling, sorry im a noob.

do you calc. your roi by average take back? ive played about 20 5+1$ SnG's and im about even from where i started.. so my ROI is 0% right?
If you take first and get 45$, is your roi like 700%?

So if i get first and then bust out twice... so ive gained 27$ in last 3 tournies is my ROI for that day about 400%?

Are you talking about Rate of return on investment?

If so let me explain. In accounting terms ROI is the rate of return or capital over a specified time period. For a company it would be there fiscal yr, it can be done daily, weekly, monthly, quarter etc, but it really doesn’t make sense to do that. For a poker player I think you should do it monthly depending on how many times you play. So basically it would be the amount you have earned over the amount you have spent on buyins on a monthly basis. In the business world a return of 10 % or greater is what is the norm. Again I don’t think this apply’s to poker.

Again this is just a number to justify how much your making/losing. As a beginner I don’t think you should put to much importance in this. More time should be spent perfecting your skill.

For example, you play 50 $30+3 SNGs, and you make $500 profit. You have risked $33x50 = $1650. Your ROI is $500/$1650 = 30.3%. Remember to include the buy-in fee for your denominator (money risked).

If you're even, your ROI is 0%.

Your ROI for a SINGLE SNG that you placed first in would be $39/$6 = 650% ROI.
