I just noticed that after a lot of reading. I'm trying to analyze hands and critique plays like everyone else is on the beginner's board. The problem for me seems to be I am giving half decent advice, and the other half people completely disagree with. This has happened to me a few times already, and I not only use the books I read to offer advice, but my experiences too, if that accounts for anything.
Am I not knowledgeable enough to comment on these hands yet? Or is it okay that advice differs sometime? I don't want to be some newbie just spewing off trash that may make another player's play worse.

Zel... I've already taken a liking to you (in a non homosexual way of course. Just had to put that out there). The response you made when I said I disagreed was incredibly mature, and is very indicative of an individual that is truly wanting to learn, and to not offer bad advice.
Your not doing a bad job, and there will always be disagreements. And that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing, as we know getting both sides of a story help make a more credible, and generally correct, decision. So don't hesitate to offer your opinion, as telling your thought process and then having otheres tell theirs, and then collectively agree to which is the correct one, will help you more than being silent.
The only thing that may help is if you are unsure of an answer, or you are truly just giving your opinion, make sure that is known, so less experienced players can corroborate all the opinions, instead of taking the first response in as golden.

Always write your thoughts on a hand. And keep an open mind if someone tells you you're wrong.
Many of the times I've learned the most is when I've been called out in a thread for posting bad advice/thoughts.

Thank you! Its a relief to see I'm not the only one and its okay to be wrong. I'm surprised to see a lot of people I label as 'pros' or vets in this forum admitting to being wrong too.
Iopq: I think I remember you saying you disagreed with one of my posts in one of the boards. I really paid attention to why you said that and figured out the counter arguments to your side. It did look very appealing, and I believe my advice wasn't a definite solution to that problem. The thread I'm thinking of is probably lost in time now, as its been a few weeks, and I'll have a hard time looking it up. But thank you for disagreeing, I respect your time to write up something that shows me, you read my post.
Stacks, thanks! I'm just trying to improve my playing, and I sometimes force my opinions down as fact. I took a more direct approach to commenting on Slevin because I hate to see him fail so many operations. A lot of the discussion on why I also said what I did will be posted on the same topic you noted.

Again, its really a relief to see some regular members here going through some of the criticisms that may be hard, but learning from them.

I lurked on this site for a long time before actually joining. My observations are that people around here are genuinely trying to help others improve their game. Part of that involves calling folks out on their mistakes/bad play/bad advice.

Just don't take anything personally that has to do with poker at all. Instead, bust your ass to work and understand why people say what they do and you'll be owning in no time. Coming to #flopturnriver will help this a lot too.

keep commenting on hands, one of the best ways to get better - especially if you explain the why of your advice. If people agree, cool - and you're helping out the poster. If not, the thread wi'll hear about it so you're not doing the opening poster any harm. + you'll learn too.
Keep posting, if you're concerned about being slammed for being wrong I can give you a few links that expose some very stupid thinking from me. Good thing, is that i read and try to understand so i can become a less weak poker player.. I can probably even find some mistaken logic from good players if i really look for it.
