Thanks in advance,

I believe it's resizable so 1280x1024 would be sufficient.

Generally you need 1600x1200 for no overlap

Hi acrafty, I think 17" monitor with minimum 1024 x 768 screen resolution will be fine for you. Though I want to tell you some thing; If you are new to online gambling {solicitation URL removed by Xianti} then its better to play it in your desktop, because desktop computer will give you more comfort and it is much faster then laptop. It's just a suggestion I hope you won't mind for that.

Not necessarily. I spent the entire summer laying in my bed 4-tabling on a 12" laptop balanced on my chest, and it was anything but uncomfortable.

That said, as we speak there is a 20" 1600*1200 LCD on its way to accompagny (sp?) the 19" 1280*1024 LCD that is standing on my desk.

Edit; and WELCOME TO FTR to the both of you!

Thanks for the advice, I think that I am going to get a 19" widescreen from acer. I think that I can pick it up for about £130 which is not bad value.

widescreens are weird. 1600x1200 is the shit, 4-tabling with no overlap. (i have two samsung 204b's, they're awesome)

204b's are the way to go. Ive got 2. They are coming down in price too.

Widescreens may look cool but they arent practical for poker.

I'm using an old Dell 21" beasty. It does 1600x1200 and can just about display four tables (depending on the site) without overlapping.

But, it's huge, takes two people to lift and takes up most of my desk. I would seriously sell it and then buy two flat screens. not only would I get more desk space, but also more desktop area. hell, 2 x 17s would be enough (2 x 1280x1024)

Sorry to hijack.

Sandstorm, where did you get your 204b? I mean they seem to retail stateside for around $350 which I'm thinking "ooh, hmm... maybe" and then it's $550 from anywhere in Sweden.

does it only depend on the monitor your using for what your maximum resolution can be or does your computer have limitations, I want to get 1600 x 1200 but am pretty clueless

I have a Dell 2007FP and am very satisfied with it. It looks great - both the screen and the actual monitor. I ordered my 2nd one a few days ago. Also i hear the Samsung 204b is a great monitor as well.

It's really just the monitor, I believe. It's possible that really old hardware wouldn't support it, but I doubt it.

At most you'd need a new video card. A $50 one would be quite sufficient.

Oh! I had never thought about the aspect of monitor before! Since I got to see the world of this virtual casino I became so addicted that I was determined to make all the arrangements with the help of which I could play the game at the comfort of my home. So far I was a silent spectator of the games being played by my friend at his place. Anyways thanks to this place where the importance of the size of the monitor was emphasized else I couldnt have learned the same!
