I work with morons.
Last week, while at work, one of the guys that I work with every single day makes a bone-headed mistake that he probably makes about every second day. As we were leaving for break time, I discover his mistake while all the guys in our section are walking by our work area. Off the top of my head, I just blurt out (rather loudly) "Adam, you're such a donk!"
All the guys literally stop walking, stare at me like I just grew a third arm out of my chest, their mouths kind of hanging open. Except one. Thank goodness for the one. He busts out laughing like a fool. I think mostly because he saw their reaction and realized they didn't get it.
So thankfully he quits laughing after a moment and explains. If it hadn't been for him, I'm not sure anything I could've said would have been good enough to overcome their confusion. I'd just be the "wierd old cranky guy." Thankfully now I'm just the "old cranky guy who makes off-handed poker references."

Thought you guys might get a kick out of it, or even have similar experiences.

There are several poker players on my team at work, and several junior engineers. Donk gets thrown around all the time.

Lol
I once told someone at an 8-ball tournament that not playing safeties was -EV. The worst is when you go to a poker tourney and they don't know what you're talking about. But then at least you know you've found a good game.
Check out my self-deprecation here!
