25NL/50NL 10max

I have been 4 tabling, playing my pocket pairs and suited connectors in late position, Ace rag suited.
QQ,KK,AA, raise a decent amount to get it down to a few people.
It's tuff when I get JJ raise it and a flop like Q,K, rag comes out.
It just seemed like I couldn't get ahead playing like this. Every once in a while I would get paid off but not enough.

Any suggestions? I'm tired of being a loser. It's not even the money, It's just the whole winning thing for me. The money is next.
3 3 3 I'm only half evil.

First off this should be in the NL ring section but that's not the issue. Ok how long have you been playing? Do you use Poker Tracker or any other tracker software to help keep records of your stats ? You can use it to find the leaks in your game.

So many things can be contributing to your losing, variance, whether you are tired when you play, your mindset, you get the picture. I would suggest finding your leaks and start focusing on them 1st.

Once you've corrected areas in your game that need your attention then you can learn to deal with variance that comes along with poker. I hope this helps.

You need to post hand histories (HH). Then people can give you some helpful advice. You must look at how much you are raising, fold when you know you are beat, and the type of hands that you are playing in and out of position. You may be playing too many hands and not getting away from them when you are beat. You want people to call when you have a real hand. One or two at the max. You have to convince yourself that you will not always win with every hand that you play. AA doesn't always win.

If you post your hands, ask for advice, you will learn a LOT about your play. By memory you might think you played something correct, but when you go back and look over it you, and all of us at ftr, can find leaks/bad plays that you might have been looking over. To be a winning player you have to become a winning player. I'm not saying you're already not capable of that now, which you definitely may be, but there is always more to learn.

6 months ago I thought I knew poker like the back of my hand. I was an average winning player, not up much lifetime but thought I was up more because I wasn't taking stats. I then started posting here and looking for advice. I am now twice, if not more, the player I was then. I am still learning. Everyday that I come to this forum I learn something new.

There is so much to learn by letting others analyze your play. And don't be shy, no one here is going to say "you suck man." This is a great community and there is discussion when there is disagreement, not ridicule. Dig up some hard hands, some pots you lost when you think you shouldn't have, maybe save a couple hands from your next session that made you scratch your head... there are a lot of knowledgable people here that would be happy to give you advice.

Good luck.

I'm sick of losing too. I suck.

Time for me to start posting more hands again.

It is so easy to blame variance or bad luck when you are on a downswing, that you will often fail to realize that you have reverted into some leaks which is hindering you from breaking out.

I haven't been getting my hand histories latley because I keep losing on either 2 pair or better hands that I can't get away from or on a donk move where I know immediately what I did wrong. But not reviewing HHs is a leak.

I also have been dwelling way way too much on bad beats or my inability to win races - that's another leak.

Time to shemale up and get back on track. I am fting something soon.

I second pretty much everything that has been said here.Post hh's, go over PT, use PA, reread some books (ITH, SSH, etc) and you should be able to at least stop some of the bleeding.

Another really basic tip it to cut back to 1-2 tables and really focus on reading players and making correct moves. If you are playing 4 tables and losing, you might not have the typical player profiles burned into your game plan yet. This is where Poker Tracker / Game Time can help you play more tables without ironclad reads, and still make good money.

I always see people complain they lose even though they play their preflop game pretty good. Well, it all comes down to postflop really. In my games I see so many people make postflop mistakes. And postflop correct play is obviously a LOT harder than preflop. Good thing too, otherwise every donk and their mother would be good at poker.
