Hi people:

I'm wondering if I should change sites. I've played Paradise forever. I always play the same players the same limits and I'm a bit frustrated, because every time -- so far -- that I've tried moving up to $25NL I get a severe whuppin' and end up back at $450 bucks in my 'roll. I haven't managed any steady gains for THREE months due to this Sisyphusian rut.

I am now hovering around the $500 mark and am wondering if I should try Party? I've played there a long, long time ago, but only as a limit player. That probably means no bonus anymore, but I could set up a new account with a new username and all, since I have moved.

How do I go about getting money from one place to the other? I've only ever used my Visa card at Paradise, and I did set up a stupid ePassporte Visa for Party once which charges a ridiculous commission.

Any suggestions on any of the above is most welcome.

Fortune room is good, but recently I saw, it also tightens up. Tables with 24% flops seen ratio are more common, the average is 35% with 45% at peak hours.

I suggest what Irisheyes did, go to Fortune. Be prepared for $80 swings as well.

Get a neteller account. Make sure you set it up in US dollars, otherwise you'll lose money in exchange fees when moving money from site to site. Once you have that sorted you can get started bonus whoring. Check out bonus whores, or EasyT's thread in online poker rooms.

OK, thanks guys. Except for the one mullardly reply it was sort of helpful. But mullards outnumber the sane on this site, and on this planet, alas.

Fortune, eh?

I think the burning question is why you're taking a whuppin at the $25NL tables. Are they bad beats? Are you calling when you shouldn't? Are your big hands just not getting paid off? Just variance?

You seemed to be doing okay when I was at your table.

I've only been on Paradise a couple of weeks but I'm running at 15ptbb/100 so far, that's just over $100 in 1k hands and I know I'm not playing that well. Now it seems that I've had a good run of cards, but I don't think that's the whole story... the games at Paradise are very soft.

If you're feeling uncomfortable at Paradise then switching's probably okay; but if there's a leak it's worth fixing it, not just going in search of fishier opponents.

BTW, yeah get Neteller (US$), it's great.

I haven't seen that in the last 2-3 months since I started looking to play 25NL at Boss. Even the 10NL tables only get to 48% players to the flop.

You said it, mate. You're having a good run of cards. Tell me your BB/100 after 30,000 hands. Then I'll be impressed if it's still anywhere near that high.

I've only got around 1500 hands at $25NL. Way in the negatives for BB/100. Embarassingly bad, in fact.

Why am I losing? I think it's just too early to say I'm losing. 1500 hands is simply not enough to make any real judgements in my opinion. A couple of big wins and I'm back in the black again. It'll just take time.

I'm perfectly comfortable at Paradise, just wondering about other sites and if it's worth while changing.

I'll look into this Neteller as well.

I'd play the 10NL table at PokerStars til you got your roll up, then I'd hit the 25NL at Party. Everybody's doin it.

But on a more uplifting note, I think I have discovered what has been awry with my game. Whilst I am still in the negatives for BB/100 at $25 NL, I am once again starting to make money. I hope to report some significant improvement after another 1,000 hands or so.

I was kind of hoping to find out if it was worth my while changing sites to capitalise on bonuses. But Paradise is still a nice site and I'm staying there for now.

Hey Irisheyes,

Yeah, I do, and besides several predictable regulars (that stack off with overpairs anyway) it's absolute donkfest. I love those bozos, their sick calls with bottom pairs and sick pushes everytime I check to them.

The tables tightened up on $25NL, 35-45% players/flop but it's still wicked profitable to play nitstyle poker, with just pocket pairs and big aces.

Checking the river works fine
