Early in a SnG. No reads.

MP2 (t1310)
Hero (t1440)
Button (t1490)
SB (t1890)
BB (t3060)
UTG (t1530)
UTG+1 (t1380)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A, K.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t20, MP1 calls t20, MP2 calls t20, Hero raises to t100, 3 folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls t80, MP2 calls t80.

Flop: (t350) 5, J, K (3 players)
MP1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets t180, MP1 calls t180, MP2 folds.

Turn: (t710) K (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets t360, MP1 calls t360.

River: (t1430) Q (2 players)
MP1 bets t760 (All-In), Hero calls t760.

Final Pot: t2950

Results in white below:
MP1 has Td As (straight, ace high).
Hero has Ac Kd (three of a kind, kings).
Outcome: MP1 wins t2950.

no way in the world. your opponent is a total fish. he bad beat you and if he's calling with that after the flop and turn then he could easily have a much worse hand than you. eg KT.

maybe you should bet slightly more on the flop. like 3/4 of the pot (about 250).

but the bottom line is you got bad beat by a total fish.

you're getting 3to1 on your money on the river btw. so you have to call. you should call even with odds of like 1.5to1 i would say

Feel free to post these sorts of hands in the SNG forum, we're a friendly bunch there.

I would have bet the flop a bit harder with the potential flush and straight draws out there. I like about 250-275 to go here. If you bet 275 on the flop and opp calls, the pot on the turn would be 900 and opp would have 1025 behind meaning you could just shove the turn and hope he calls with something like KQ or KT.

As played, I'm not laying down trips top kicker on the river, this will very often be K-lower kicker which you crush.

would you bet the turn allin with 900 in the pot and 1000 behind him? don't you like a bet of 600 more and then pushing the river?
more chance of getting all your opponents chips.

like HOH3. the farha vs negreanu example. he bets the turn small so he has a better chance of getting all his money in on the river

What about the raise pf? With three limpers in front I would probably raise to about 120-140, try to isolate to just one opponent.

If he calls 600 bet with a 900 pot out there he'll call a push IMO.

Be careful ascribing too much credit to low buyin SNG opponents. Just get all your chips in with the best hand. Leaving 400 chips behind is pointless IMO.

i think the preflop is fine. he 5xbb with 2 limpers. it's a fine raise by me. 6xbb is also good. i think 7xbb is too much and you'll get too little action most of the time.

I'm mainly cash game player and hardly play any sng...

...but I don't like turn half pot. Two flushdraws and possible Kx in his range - PSB on the turn, then river plays itself.
