After his turn on the turn I'm ready to shut this down. Then I hit a straight on the river, so I decide to check/call a reasonable river bet. How much can I bet for value here? $1? Would two pair or a set call here? I don't think this is too bad, I'd have to fold if he came over the top. Basically if he bets 1/2 pot here I will payoff a flush. I don't see 2 pair of set bluffing me off here to often anyway.

Lol, sometimes I get nitty when I'm drinking. Actually when I posted this hand I thought I was reading 4 clubs on the board. Yeah, any two pair/set is calling 1/2 pot on river.
Pretty sure when I actually played this hand I was looking to c/r on the river.

A river check/raise is bad here and allows him to 3-bet with hands that beat you.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.
