Has anyone ever tried this before? It would take a lot of trust but if that was there it could be a good idea.
The idea is sharing a Bankroll so everyone uses the same amount of money for instance.
3 people deposit $50 into one account (or give $50 a piece to one guy who does it)
This would have to be sort of a room mate thing.
They would all have the password with a 4th mediary type deal where only the guy who doesn't play poker can deposit or withdraw money.
Then throughout the whole day they play. If each played 4 hours a day multitabling that's 12 hours a day and if they're all good poker players I can see that BR rising incredibly fast.
The only downside is they would have to split it 3 ways but isn't it better to get to the higher stakes faster even if you have to split it three ways or do you think this would even matter?

downside ---> each is putting too few hands to be learning what you need at every level to profitably move up.

Each level teaches you a lot. You should be learning while playing, so if you learn as much playing 16k hands as playing 42k hands, then thats fine. But if not, you will be probably short of experience when moving up.

Ok, I see what you mean now.
Let's assume though that each player has a good understanding of how each level plays up to $1/$2.
My question is mathematically is it a good idea.
Would they make profit faster doing that or would it be the same. I have a hunch it would be the same but it would allow them to escalate to the top faster and profit from the higher levels faster.

terrible idea imo.
What you could do, even though I think that's a bad idea also is to crossbook each other temporarily. Say for 10k hands you make up each others winnings/losses.
If everyone could beat every level up to 200NL, they wouldn't be grinding the micros either.
Most people spend too little time at a level because they're rolled for the next one under 30k hands anyway, and then they move up, go broke and move down again. This is bound to fail on a lot of levels imo.

Also because it's against the TOS of the poker rooms to share one account you'd always have it in the back of your mind that your account could just be suspended if they found =(

If you can "really" beat $1/$2 then put $50 on the site and just grind it up. It's not like it would take more than a couple months to get to $100NL anyway. Hell I cna beat $1/$2 and my BR bottomed out last month to $200 in a tilt infested romp and I play $50NL now with 35 BI's

If you are all three winning players at 100NL I say go for it... the worst any of you lose is like $16. It might be fun to try it.
However, if you are not all proven winners at 100nl then its a bad idea. You all need to pay your dues.. gain a ton of experience. Read this thread.

If they're all good, why do they need to share a $150 bankroll?
Is the idea you'll be able to skip levels if you do this? I'm not sure I understand why someone would want to play higher up without learning to beat $2NL and $5NL first. Learning is cheap at those levels and it's such a confidence builder to start off your poker career with success.

this is a terribad idea. Don't do business with friends. Don't share money with friends. If you can't afford 40 dollars for a 2NL starter roll and can't learn the game well enough to move up from there, what's sharing an account going to help?

Being against the TOS would probably be the #1 reason why it wouldn't work, but wouldn't getting less raked and more Comp points on one account be worth it assuming your colleagues don't ditch you and take the money.
This is just a hypothetical situation, I don't think any 3 people could ever be at the same level and pull their own weight.

then, knowing it's against the TOS of sites and that some people here would feel strongly about it to contact stars and get your account locked - why bother wasting forum space?

BAD BAD BAD. With that said and for what its worth, Doyle Brunson in his early years shared a bankroll with two others. Don't know how that can ever work though.

There isn't really a need to put $50 in anyways unless you are doing the bonus. In my latest op I started at $10 on March 1st and play 1 hr per day on average... I am now at $81.
If you have a 8 hrs per day to play you should be able to turn $10 into $300 in two weeks or less.. no need to add 3-4 peeps to the equation to tilt off your hard earned dough.

Two friends of mine did that and earned a shitload off RB and bonus. Had some trouble, when it came to dividing the roll when one of the peers moved out, but they´re still friends.

I don't think it's a waste of space because even though this itself might never go anywhere it might spark an idea that could turn into something profitable, sort of like improve on an invention type thing.
It's good to discuss these type things.
