Dare I ask if someone plays a different line here? I ruled out a r/r due to all the folks in behind, and the difficulty I would have in betting them off a draw w/o committing myself here. The only reason I ask is my line stanks of set, so unless hes ready to gamble, he lays down almost anything except a set. So maybe I gamble a lot for a little gain?

Of course, he hollywooded before calling, probably saying a prayer against the flush draw.

Why such a big reraise on the flop?

Id imagine your thread title is going to skew your replies a fair bit. You have middle set and I dont think 22 ever folds that so you should be at least breaking even. Add to that the times someone calls with an overpair and your laughing.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

Punish the gambol, and perhaps suck an overpair in.

what is set over set on the flop - 99 to 1?

gotta pay the man. all the times you are up against low set, draws that don't get there, TPTK, two pair, bluff, donk, etc. - it pays for itself QUICKLY no?

just gotta suck it up in my book. (my enormous 5 post book to boot).

of course the situation makes a difference, but not that much...

I don't think I would've moved all-in. With the state of the flop, and the fact he's betting $15 into an $11 (I think) pot... I'd disregard the idea that he's playing overcards and definitely not a draw. I'd put him on a set.

50/50 whether it's 2's or 8's.

I'd bet out... See where I am... I couldn't go all-in on a 50/50 like that. I'd tell him I have the eights with a big raise, and if he re-raises, then he'd confirm that he has me beat.

Unless he sucks.

But I've lost many big pots assuming people suck. So forget it.

awful thinking, its never 50/50 here. and you have better pot odds than 50/50 anyway.

My read would be 50/50 between taking the pot or losing it.
