You're in late position and you bet the flop with your 8+ outer. You get 1-2 callers. Turn is a blank.
I know that there is a billion different factors involved, but how often do you guys fire again when it's checked to you?
Do you like to bet or take the free card?

I check almost always. They either like thier hand enough to call you or are also on a draw worth calling. The river's the time to bluff if you think they haven't made their draw or it looks like you have.

Sorry but I need more information.. did you raise pre-flop? What position do your two opps have? What position (exact) do you have? What % of the pot did you bet on the flop? Are your opponents conservative or liberal? passive or aggressive?

It'll be hard to find their political preferences at a poker table

I thought conservatives were against gambling? They're obviously liberals.

Conservatives don't want anyone else having their chips,
while Liberals want the rake to go up so all the losers can get rakeback.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

The simple answer is that it depends upon the chance of someone (or both) folding to your bet.

This is what I usually do too. I love the free card. But I recently have found that a bigger sized bet on the turn will often get them to fold. It's like one bet is nothing, but two bets is serious - type of mentality. They will fold their TPMK a lot of times.
Also, when I check the turn, a bluff on the river pretty much never works unless they were on a draw too. So on the turn I have to decide, do I want to bluff, or do I want to draw. I don't think I can do both if I check unless I'm drawing to a str8 and a third club comes on the river.

Yeah, it's a very general question. I was hoping other people would just fill in the variables like, "If I'm the pfr then I will..." etc.
In my scenario you're in late position and everyone has checked to you twice now.
Typically, I'd say that in a big pot I generally take the free card because I'm not willing to bet deep enough to get the callers to fold.
Obviously if they're calling stations you shouldn't bet here.

Wouldn't this be funny though? You're on the river, your opp pushes all-in. And you say, "Who did you vote for in 2004?"
"Bush"
"I call".

Based upon your scenario, I push it here. I am a firm believer in positional aggression.

I like to mix it up in that spot. Semi-bluffing on the flop is something I love to do. With only 1 more card coming I sometimes just take it for free.

I like to semi-bluff the flop, bet or re-raise and then get the free card on turn. This all with position, OOP just check.
