Semibluffing is just bluffing with outs.

You can semibluff on all streets except (lol obvious) river.

-Lots of limpers, you have J4o on BB. By potting it preflop you semibluff. either you get folds (good), limp/3bet (bad) or call (not so good but you can at least catch g00t). Your hand is hopeless, but the range you are repping is very narrow (which means a lot of FE against thinking players).

- You raise OTB with some junk sooteds 67s, and flop a draw against BB in King high board. BB leads half pot blockish bet, you raise it repping AK+, he'll muck lots of weaker hands, if he calls with king or better, you can still turn a great hand. The semibluff was preflop (raise with 7 high) AND on flop (raising draw and repping king).

- You open QJs from some position and get called by some player. You flop OESD on T92, your c-bet gets raised by fairly aggro player, who is capable of raising "for info". Straightforward, conservative play is call, then fold (or check back) turn if missed, or raise/push when you hit nuts. But you decided to semibluff, and you 3bet shove, repping AA-QQ/set. He insta-mucks his AT figuring, he's on 5 outs at best. If he musters the balls to call with a pair (or has a set), then you still have 8 outs to draw out on him.

- You face 4 limpers and have Q8s in CO. Standard play is "usually fold". You make potsized raise instead. It's semibluff.

- You smoothcall-float flop bet with OESD. Board has 2 spades and you don't have any spades. Turn is 3rd spade but your draw whiffs. Villain bets half pot, and you raise him, repping made flush. If you get called by pairs/sets whatever, you still have outs to outdraw and "spewtard" label is waiting for you
"How could I call that bet? How could you MAKE that bet? It's poker not solitaire. " - that Gus Bronson guy
