On pokerstars I know how to see hand histories but is there anyway to see what someone had if they raised preflop and then folded to my bet on the turn, river, etc?

My friend tells me it's a rule that they have to show if I ask (and I know it's considered rude to repeatedly do it) but there is a way to request a hand history that I san see everyone's cards?

Nope. You can only see hands that go to a showdown. i.e. all the betting is done and both players are still in the pot. If a player abadons ship early, they can find comfort in knowing their secrets are safe with Poker Stars.
