Hi Everyone,

There are some good Rush Poker strategy discussion topics for beginners and pros alike at:

FullTiltRushPoker on Facebook

Here are a few examples from the "Discussion" tab:

Assume you're playing 9-handed $.5/$1 NLHE, and you don't have notes on anyone.

Scenario #1: You have $50, which is the table average. You're dealt A10s under-the-gun (i.e. first to act preflop). Do you fold? call? raise? (If you raise, how much?)

Scenario #2: UTG+1 (i.e. second to act preflop) has $200 and raises to $3.50. You have KJ and $75 on the button. Do you fold, call, or raise?

Scenario #3: You have $150 in the cutoff (i.e. one seat to the right of the button). UTG has $200 and limps (calls the big blind). You raise to $5 w/ AQ, the blinds fold but UTG calls. The flop comes Q-8-5 rainbow (no flush draw). UTG checks, you bet $10. UTG raises to $35. Do you fold, call, or raise?

*

There's also some strange "Infrequently Asked Questions" about Rush Poker, such as this one from an angry player:

QUESTION: I very sorry for to bother you. I call man at table “stinking-rat-donkey” and I think he no see it. I fold under-the-gun before flop and was transfer to new table. What am I should do? I wish the rat-donkey see I name him rat-donkey. Thanks you very much for your times.

ANSWER: If you folded pre-flop from first position, it means you were the first person to act in the hand, and you began insulting an unknown player immediately upon sitting down, before any action had occurred. That is bizarre, and your chat privileges might be revoked.

Enjoy!

No reads...Rush Poker is the new format where once you fold you are sent to a new table with new players and dealt a new hand...so unless you have already played with your opponent, he's always an unknown.

So the strategy is really interesting exactly because you have no reads...it's sort of like determining the optimal ABC poker strategy.

I think this one is the toughest:

Scenario #2: UTG+1 (i.e. second to act preflop) has $200 and raises to $3.50. You have KJ and $75 on the button. Do you fold, call, or raise?

Is the plan just call pre-flop? Call his bet on the flop if you make top pair, and then fold if he fires again on the turn? That seems weak, but if an early position raiser bets the flop and turn, you gotta be a little worried.

Even J-x-x, which is normally a great flop for KJ doesn't look that good if he bets the flop and turn after raising from early position preflop.

My thinking is you take the above described weak line, and just hope you're not up against a maniac.

Furthermore: Does your line change based on the fact that you can't talk trash afterwards?

well, first off i'd buy in full, and second off i'm never fucking calling scenario 2 unless i'm doing it as a float (in other words, raising a lot of cbets).

i haven't played any FR rush poker, but calling in normal NLHE in this spot is terrible 90% of the time.

I agree that calling there w/ KJ is wrong if you're under 100BB and you've got no read on the opponent. And if you do call, you probably need to raise most continuation bets on the flop anytime you miss.

I just wonder if some players are raising more in Rush Poker since they know half the table might have already Quick-Folded to another table. Plus, anytime you call, you're representing something good since it can't really be a call out of frustration.
