I've made a lot of them...still make them all the time...maybe some of them don't just happen to rookies
call when you mean to fold, thinking you've won a hand when you've lost or vice versa...found a new one today
I play $5 sng's and that's what my br calls for...I was in one and also clicking around on the $50 sng's at the same time to see the prize structure, players etc.
When I got out of my $5 sng I went to start another...or so I thought...I noticed the competition was much better and thought maybe I'd just found a new table but when I clicked on cashier after the game I realized that I'd entered a $50 by mistake.
Oops...shame I didn't cash...I would have crapped my pants for the opposite reason

Could've been worse. Could've been a limit tourney.

I've joined an Omaha game before. That was definitely a rookie mistake.

I can't even count the number of times I have joined Limit HE, Omaha, and HORSE SNGs by mistake. I need to get glasses or something.

i accidentally entered a $10 Limit MTT on party last year and ended up taking 6th place. Only about 150 entrants though.

Horse is alright, since few people know how to play omaha, stud, stud hi-lo, and razz right (all of them). Funny thing is when people call you down when they logically have a 0% chance of winning considering the 4 up cards.
Yeah, limit HE is a downer

Pot Limit's great fun, especially when you loudly exclaim (in the chat box): "Oh, I thought this was No Limit. Ah well, first time for everything" and then kick their asses.
Makes me feel all warm inside.

Oh man this happened to me last night...pot limit omaha hi/lo heads up sng...I'd swear the other person was in the wrong room too though because they had NO idea how to play...or maybe it was just because I kept raising to the max because I had no idea what was going on. Somehow I won although I'm still not sure why. Gotta read those room descriptions a little better.

i remember a guy who was drunk and wanted a HU game. WHile playing he felt it was the toughest game he ever won. checked his BR see he doubled it. he entered a 1K HU game instead of a $10.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can break the habit of being really excited about my two pair (last case: KK / AA), and instead losing to a straight of a flush? I'm like an excitable little kid, and get so caught up in my (and I quote) "awesome hand!" that I lose sight of what could really be going on.

Kind of a wierd place to post this, but:
AA / KK is just a pair, the later in the hand the more value they lose

I dunno, a thread called "rookie mistakes" seems about the right place to post it! Despite the fact that half of FTR's 200NL+ posters can't let go of top two either

What I meant is that the thread talks about misclicking for the tournament, and most people who already glanced at this thread will not look again to see a post regarding a specific question which was not raised by OP.
It is better to start a new thread with this kind of question then post it in an existing thread in which the topic may be relevant but the discussion goes off in a different direction.
BTW I misread two pair for top pair, so my answer is not relevant
