Up until now I've focused solely on SnG's and MTT's. I'm interested in playing ring games also, and had a few questions.

1) Where does ring game strategy differ from tournament strategy?

2) Do you typically play tighter or looser in a ring game?

3) How do you pick the 'right' table?

4) Are the starting hand requirements higher or lower?

5) What level should you play at in relation to your bankroll?

6) All the poker books I've ready have been about Tournament Strategy, are there any that focus on ring strategy?

1) Blinds never change, losing your stack isn't fatal. Big big differences there.
2) Looser then I play early in tourneys, tighter then I play later in tourneys.
3) With a divining rod. I think there's some stickies around here about table selection.
4) See #2.
5) 15 buyins for 10-max NL. See 'rilla's bankroll management thread in the beginner's circle for more info.
6) Sklansky's a fine place to go for starters.
Up my bankroll - buy Saints Row.

1: As crunchynuts said the major difference is that blinds dont change. You dont have to act according to your stack and blinds (you can rebuy). Blind stealing is not profitable (at least not in low limits)

2: I play TAgg, but I'm just starting out playing low limit ring (only played Sngs before)

3: Read this about table selection and do a search in this forum. http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=128

4: Depends on what style you wanna play. LAgg or TAgg. If you are starting out playing ring in low limit, I would recommend you to start playing TAgg, and then maybe change your style to LAgg when entering higher stakes.

5: Read this: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...pic.php?t=4971.
I play with 20xmaxbuyin (playing NL $25 with a $500 BR)

6: There arent really any good books on NL ring as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong), but Sklansky is supposed to be the best at this point (rumours says he's working on a NL cashgame book)
