Both the UTG and Button were very very very laggy. I knew 1 of them would have called any reraise by me, except an all in.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (4 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

BB ($5.12)
UTG ($5.63)
Button ($10.64)
Hero (SB) ($3)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, A
UTG bets $0.08, Button calls $0.08, Hero raises to $0.42, 1 fold, UTG calls $0.34, 1 fold

Flop: ($0.94) J, 8, 6 (2 players)
(unknown) checks, UTG bets $0.15, Hero raises to $0.56, UTG calls $0.41

Turn: ($2.06) K (3 players, 1 all-in)
Hero checks, UTG bets $0.20, Hero calls $0.20

River: ($2.46) Q (3 players, 1 all-in)
Hero checks, UTG bets $0.56, Hero calls $0.56

Total pot: $3.58 | Rake: $0.15

now i check raised because i knew he was gonna bet and i was hoping he had an A-J because i knew he would go to the river with it. I knew even Q-J or K-J could be possable. I really wasnt to worried about a set here.

Now when the king came off i thaught i could be behind with a K-J but it would still be a +ev call. I still thaught i was ahead of his range.

But the river i wanted to fold because i knew i was beat. I just couldnt fold to 50 cents. This is one of my problems folding hands like this to pennies, nickels and even dimes to a laggy player. I put him on a range of hands after the flop that he could be calling my reraise with and when that king came off a huge siren started blaring so i went into c/c mode. Then when i saw the Q i'm like yeah i think i'm screwed now even though i was still ahead of some hands in his range.

Could i have done anything different? Should I?

I feel like i did the right thing except maybe the river call because i knew i was beat. I actually put him on 2 pair though. Anyways your thaughts would be appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't squeeze so large. Instead of making it 21xbb, I'd make it more like 17bb or $0.34ish. Then I would lead the flop, turn, and get all the money in by the river.

Yeah help me out for a second though please. Take me through why....if you can. I mean why lead out when i know he's gonna bet with air and call my reraise if he has a jack and build the pot to the point where hes not gonna getta way from it with TPTK or close to it. If the turn was a safer card i would have led right out on the turn. Also i know i know i squeezed hard but the way they were playing preflop i knew i was gonna get at least 1 call. thanks XxStacksxX

If you know he's willing to get it in, then get it in, he'll call. I would have gotten it in on the turn. A check looks good on the turn too, so when he does his little bet, put him all in there. At $2NL, everyone is always looking to get it all in.

Yes, he could have KJ on the turn. He could have JJ, 88, 66, or given how loose he is, he could have J8, J6 or 86 on the flop. The point is you are still ahead of both his range of hands and the range of hands that will call your bet. On the turn, he's got an equally wide range of hands that will call your bet. KJ is such a small portion of his range, don't be afraid of the boogeyman. Pot the flop, all in on the turn. In the long run against this player, you'll be winning most of these hands.

You got as close to the maximum value that you could have got out of the hand so you played it right. The problem though is that the game your playing is such a small limit so you get more people like that. What works for me is to over bet the pot and if he calls all of that with four outs than isn't that what your looking for.

Op lost the hand.

He got value? He certainly didn't lose the least.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

whether or not you should c/r aside, your raise should be way bigger. even with the fancy play you still only got like half the pot in. i'm leading on the turn too and if he only bet a tenth of the pot i don't know how you're putting him on strength. i'm putting him on a draw (97 maybe) or middle or bottom pair. assuming top two is, excuse my language, poker pussy

how about this go F*CK yourself, Poker P*ssy??? whats your PS screen name? i bet that low to keep him in the hand with his K-J or A-J even Q-J. I had him on a range and thaught i might have been beat thats why i went into c/c mode, if the turn was a safer card (not one that i put in his range) then i would have fired a pot sized bet on the turn. I also would have bet more or raised on the river if it wasnt a queen because i had him pinned on those 3 hands.

Easy, cheesies. I think a little misunderstanding occurred here.

If you scanned surviva's post quickly, it might appear he was calling you out, but I don't believe so.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure surviva was simply saying assuming top 2 pair is playing scared.

Game on!
