Ok so I've got this down

Raising first in:
UTG/UTG+1: AQs, AK, 77+
MP1: AJ+, 55+
MP2/3: AJ+, KQs, 22+
HJ/CO: AJ+, KQ, QJ, 22+
BTN: A8s+, KQ, KJ, QJ, 22+

But what happens when I'm not the first to raise? For the sake of the exercise let's say we have position over someone that's raised preflop 5/6 x BB as happened to me today when I drew KQo. Usually I fold faster than a Chinese woman on laundry day but I feel maybe this isn't always correct.

Need to know a few things first...

What is our position?
From which position is villain opening?
How does he play, what is his stats? 35/32? 20/8? 5/4?
What is the effective stack-size?
How is the game flow on the table? How is the game flow between you two?
Are there any players to act? How do they play? Are you likely to have position after the flop?

Fcs, what do you think his range is (to open, to fold to a 3bet, to call a 3bet, to 4bet)?

In other words, it depends...

daviddem will become famous soon enough
Also, beware of AJ... trouble hand! Good to steal blinds and punish limpers in LP, but I tend to stay away from it in MP.

Well for me, and im not sure if this applies to everyone or not, i usually put someone on a range, and then do some quick evaluations on if calling is +ev, or if raising is +ev based on my equity against their range, position, likelihood of being 3bet, stack sizes, etc and then choose the most +ev choice. Thats just me though.
