Played an odd hand today at Empire 25NL.

LooseAggr bets .75 from UTG. This usually means a strong hand
from UTG but I wasn't sure with this guy.

I was holding KQs from MP and had a rather loose image, good stack,
getting lots of action.

I decided to raise the hand. I wanted to get it heads up and I wanted
to get an idea of how strong his hand was. I also wanted position for
the hand. If he had AA or KK I figured he would let me know. Plus
there's always a chance he's got crap and will let it go right there.

Does anyone think this is a valid move? Would you do this with AK? AQ?

In this particular hand he reraised and I layed it down. He showed TT.

I like the move. As long as the guy you're reraising is loose and you have position on him. However, if you pick up callers behind you from the tighter players then you're in trouble.

Tough one. It seems interesting. I think the key is you're going to have to win at showdown too often against this opponent.

You have a lagg read on him, but IMO even a lagg is going to raise something better than KQs from UTG a fair share of the time. I think there's a great chance you're isolating a better hand here. Even if you're not, he's gonna come out firing to make you think so postflop. Position is slightly depricated against an aggressive opponent since they challenge without info, and representation (as you propose to do), is the game plan against a tight opponent when you hold KQs, not a loose one. You can make the tight player fold the best hand sometimes. You should be trapping a lagg player, not isolating with a worse hand, since you'll have to win at showdown.

That being said, I think it's a fun move to make. I'm really only slightly against it.
