flomo will become famous soon enough
I just opened an account at paradise poker, moving from party and leaving no money at party poker. The topic of variance comes up over and over here. Does anyone feel they are having a bad session on one site and decide to go to another site to changes things up?

thanks

It's all psychological. If I'm having a bad day on party, I'll play on stars. It's the same thing with people who have lucky objects. If a guy has a "lucky" shirt it's not the shirt that's making him do better, it's him feeling comfortable by wearing the shirt.

You should do it if it makes you more comfortable.

It can be more than psychological. You can be on a bad table and not really be aware of the fact; you might have a LAgg to your left and get bumped out of a lot of pots; you might be subconsciously tilting because of bad beats, because the play is unuaully slow etc. All of this will necessarily change when you move sites, and it will probably tend towards the average, so relatively speaking it'll feel better.

Definetly psychological as bio put it. I feel as if its a fresh start if I play another site. However; variance is everywhere. Poker is poker wherever you play. Same game , same players, same rewards. If its a positive for you ... Dont let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Always good to have two different sites to play on...maybe even three. When you have a bad day in one...things "could" be better on another. Although I must admit, when I am having a bad day...its a bad day on all the sites.

For me, this statement is very true. It has taken me awhile (30k hands) to realize some days are better than others, and some tables are just "out of my control". If the latter is the case with 3 maniacs PFR'ing each and every pot, I change tables instead of changing sites.

Just my humble $.02
