I think this is a big weakness of mine. Sure if a player calls 80% of hands, he gets a 'Calling Station' note. If someone else regularly reraises or pushes with nothing then they'll get a 'reraises with air' or 'pushes with middle/bottom pair' note. That said, I see a lot of regulars on my tables, where I just dont have a note on them. Or I play at a table for an hour or so, and dont really have a feel for how they play, what their hand ranges are, etc.

Anyone got some tips or advice on how to better develop this? What process do you go through when you sit down and want to develop reads on the other players?
Just playing to improve.

Player reading isn´t that important at microlimits. Everyone talks about making reads on players, actually you´re better off developing hand-reading skills.

The players you talk about are just plain ABC´s/Rocks u can´t make many reads on. They fold through the whole night pre, play their hands fast and pull a move every once in a while, infrequently to enough, that it´s not worth to look them up.

You might look, how their play differs IP/OOP, how tight they are post, do they float/are giving up when bing floatetd. How do they behave in BvB situations, how do they react when s.o. donks into them, etc....

It comes with experience. It's like fielding ground balls throughout your childhood, to give yourself a crack at the majors.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
