This is just an odds question... and to some extent a move question... 5 sitting at a turbo SnG, I'm in last position, everyone but the blinds have folded out... I have about 1800, SB has about 900, BB is big stack with about 4000, blinds were 60/120 I think... anyway, I raise to 400 hoping to take the blinds and be over with it, SB folds, BB pushs all in. I call and end up winning because she missed. After the hand she made some comments about how lucky I was and I said 'how's going in with the best hand luck?' Anyway, she insists she was a 58/42 favorite preflop, is that right? Also, did I play poorly? I haven't been playing poker very long at all, less than a year. Was my raise appropriate in that situation and was calling the all in a bad idea given the circumstances? She had been relatively aggressive but it was a turbo...

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 46.1116 % 45.90% 00.22% { As8s }
Hand 2: 53.8884 % 53.67% 00.22% { 7d7s }

More like 52-48, classic underpair vs. two overcards scenario. Yes it was appropriate to raise there. Calling depends on BB's re-raise range and whether you think you're dominated.

your play is fine, and I wouldn't listen to anything that somebody tells you at the tables.

1) this sounds like a low-stakes game, and most players at the very low limits don't really know how to play poker.

2) they don't have your best interest at heart.

And the hand simulator is called pokerstove, I have it but forget the site link, but I assume it's www.pokerstove.com
