Hand 1

Villain is 19/16/11.8(vpip/pfr/3b%) over 68, I bet flop for protection and value, on turn we have nuts so more value. River puts me in a tough spot because I cant really see a tag calling two streets with a 7 here, nor can I see him calling this river with a queen that often. I checked to try and induce a random bluff from any missed draws or queens/pps that want to turn their hands into a bluff, but I’m not sure how often that’s going to happen. So basically I don’t know which gets me more value.

SB ($10.05)
BB ($11.45)
UTG ($33.90)
Hero (MP) ($12.15)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9, 9
1 fold, Hero bets $0.40, Button calls $0.40, 2 folds

Flop: ($0.95) Q, 7, 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.90, Button calls $0.90

Turn: ($2.75) 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.90, Button calls $1.90

River: ($6.55) 7 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks

Total pot: $6.55

Hand 2
Ok this hand is the side effect of playing after getting back from a new years party. Villain is 42/9 fish over around 50. So a shove is probably worst here, in retrospect I should just be flatting the flop as we could be ahead against his bluffs and draws, but his range has a lot of sets in it. So he can really have sets, flush draws, straight draws, combo draws, hence I like a call on flop, but what’s plan for rest of hand?

Hand 1: If you're ever betting the river for value then you should bet it for value here.

Hand 2: Calling the flop is terrible. You played it fine.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.
