Last night I was playing on a 50NL table on Titan which had DP. Now I clearly understand why DP is put in place, but yesterday I got quite annoyed.

I was heads up on the flop against another guy on a 6 max table. Flop was 10 high with quite a few draws on it. I had K10 and bet out, he raised and then I pushed leaving him with a tough decision. Now I'm pretty sure he wasn't disconnected and just let the timer time him out so he wasn't forced to make a decision of either commiting his stack or folding and giving me about half his stack which he had already commited. He timed out and after the whole board was out it ended up with him having A10 and taking the pot.

This really annoyed me because if he had to make a decision whether to call or fold, I think think he would have had to fold. Has this happened to anyone else or is this a tactic that you also employ?

hmmm i dont know about titan but on most sites letting the timer run out just makes you fold.

In order to get the benifit of the DP you have to physically disconnect. If you are doing it on purpose that means pulling the cable out. It can happen but its pretty rare. If you suspect it get a copy of the hand history and email support. They will investigate it and if the guy does it alot, or mostly when he has a tough decision to make, and not when he has AA preflop and someone just reraised then they will do something about it.

What's DP?

I've only timed out when I loose a connection/couldn't get to the table quickly enough. My problem is that I'm hooked up with a wireless connection some of the time, and often the worst case scenerio happens.

stars calls it allin protection. If you disconnect it acts as though the rest of your stack doesnt exist so it treats you as allin for that hand.

Youll notice some tables say (no-allin) in the lobby and in the bar at the top of the game window. Those tables DONT have the disconnect protection. The other tables do.

Party just calls it DP but its the same system.
