I have been devouring the information on this site and 2+2 for the last several weeks. After playing casual friend-and-family tourneys for the past year, I started playing on my DH's on-line account after Thanksgiving. I was hooked. Thanks goodness I found FTR before I went out on my own and became major shark-bait.
Before I start my own accounts, I want to make sure I maximize any bonus or rakeback potential. Heck, I'm sure I'll need all the help I can get. So, what is the proper order of sign-up or establishing accounts? Do I join a site with a bonus code and then sign up directly with a site as an affiliate? Or how do I find an existing affiliate to give them credit for my initial set-up?
Sorry if these questions are inappropriate to this forum. I will edit as advised.

Most all of these sites offer some sort of deposit bonus.

Somewhere, someone had posted a real good guide for new people opening accounts etc. They had where to go, when to go etc. Things like, don't go to the Party skins until you have at a $500 bankroll so that you can maximize the 20% up to $100 bonuses and stuff. If someone can find that link, that would be a good guide to use, and then just kind of use the pieces you want based on your bankroll and skills etc. One other thing, if you can, try to find out ahead of time how long it takes to cash out of the sites. There are some where you need to wait a week for a pin number to come in the mail, and there are others, that the money gets back into your Neteller in a few hours, (Party affiliates).
I don't want to tell you one way or another as far as rakebacks go. I signed up for one now, attached to a party skin, and wish I would have signed up with one for every site I siged up with. Some people I think, don't think it's worth it. Depends on how often you play at a particular site, and what games you play, ring games, SnG's, etc. I think others can explain more about it than I can.
Otherwise, good luck, and make sure to have fun.
