Hey FTR folks...my first post here. I have been playing Limit for a short time and I am trying to work some of the newbie bugs out of my game so that I can incorporate some more advanced tactics. I have learned preflop play well enough to know what to never play, but I was wondering if playing at a 6-max table would warrant a slightly looser approach preflop (not junk, just weaker Ax's and unsuited King hands). I have been doing okay playing tight preflop. But at these tables, often times it's three-handed before the flop or even heads up, which would lend itself more to making high pairs than to chasing a lot of draws. Probably hella stupid question, but thanks for the advice anyway.
There's three types of people in the world...those who can count, and those who can't.

When you play a 6max table you do loosen up, but only in high card strength. For example, if 2 fold and you are CO, you want to raise K9o or any A. True, suitedness helps, but what you really need is high card strength. A good formula for the average 6max table is make a raise or fold decision on your starting hand based on high card strength, and then bet relentlessly unless you know you are beat or have the worst of it. Remember that anyone who has 2 unpaired cards has only about a 30% chance of hitting a flop ... your A high is pretty good even 3 handed.
