Hello everyone, I have been a lurker on this site for more than 6 months, and I have to say its been a wonderful resource and has helped my game dramatically. I would like to thank all the posters here , you have been quite the influence.

With that being said I would like to focus on what I am writing this for. My skill level has been getting higher and higher ever since I started. I feel like I've gained more talent when it comes to approaching the game. However my biggest problem has been discipline and proper bankroll managaement. I have dropped a few $50 buyins at Paradise and Absolute mostly because of me straying away from the games I should be playing.

Im writing this as a personal journal to keep me focused on discipline and BR management. Ill be sharing my experiences with you all while I try to build my BR. I have deposited $50 on Absolute and will start playing the micro SnGs to build my roll. Wish me luck and thank you for all of your advice, you guys have been great.

Starting BR: $50
Current BR: $50

Whats happening people? Hope everyones having a good 4th of July Weekend.

Well I started my bankroll venture and started by taking down a $2 SnG last night. After that I entered into a $3 freezeout MTT, busting close to the second break. Didnt catch too many solid hands, couldnt make any significant moves to boost my stack.

I was a little flustered today in a $2 R/A that I entered this afternoon. I probably only played 5 hands the first hour staying in the middle of the field by the first break. My stack was about 8K, 30 mins. into the 2nd hr. when I made a donkey call leaving me to about 2k in chips. I would usually give up at this stage of a MTT being 80 out of 84 or something at that time, I hung in there and kept patience. I caught a hand and doubled cant remember. I also went all in with AQ and AK and both times the villian had the identical hand. Right before the 2nd break I made a nice steal attempt catching me another 5K in chips. By the 2nd break I had 13K in chips and had gained alot of confidence. After the 2nd break I hit a huge hand. I limped in with A3o, with 4 limpers and the blinds at 250/500 there was about 3K in the pot preflop. Flop came 3 3 5, and I basically doubled up from there leaving me at the 25K mark. At that point I was in the top 10 chip leaders and was feeling pretty good. This is where my lack of experience and patience came in. I guess I was on a bit of a rush and started playing like a true donk. I got AQ in early position and limped in, until one of the blinds went all in for about 4K, UTG calls and so do I. flop was J 4 J, and UTG goes all in for another 5K in chips to me, at this point I shouldve laid it down with just A high but the 15K sidepot was too tempting and I callled. UTG showed pock. 10s and the shortstack had Jx, 4th and 5th Sts. are blanks for me. At this point I was back down to about 13K in chips and back in the middle of the field. From there my concentration fell apart and I donked away the rest of my chips busting out in about 30th place or so.

This type of problem has been happening frequently when it comes to MTTs. My concentration and focus begin to dwindle after the 2nd break, where the real money is made. I can usually build a decent sized stack but I begin to get pressured and I start thinking too much. I guess it just takes a lot of experience and discipline too handle this problem.

Oh well, I'm not completely discouraged by how I played, I just am disappointed in not staying focused for a little longer. Mental fatigue just set in, I couldnt handle it.

Starting BR: $50
Current BR: $56.76

You should not be doing this.

You don't have the bankroll for $3 freezeout, let alone R/A. If you are playing for fun and don't mind buying in again you're fine, but if you intention is to build this $50 into a roll then stick to the $2 SnG.

Wow, just busted in 6th in the $2 FO, I am disappointed but I am happy with the way I played.

I sucked out bigtime early on in the final table, pushing with AQ, and getting called by AK, river gives me a Q, to double up. From there I played pretty tight and picked my spots. Hoewever two hands that I got sucked out on just hurt.

I get 22 on the button or in late position. The guy to my right raises to 20K , I call flop, is 3 10 10 rainbow. He pushes, I knew he had 2 overs, it was an obvious push so I knew I was ahead. I call and he shows AQ, turn is a blank heart and the river is another heart giving him a flush and leaving me crippled. On the next hand me being down to about 20K in chips I push with AQ, chip leader calls with JQ, flop is X X 10, turn is 9, riv is 8 giving him the straight. I know I sound like a little bitch moaning about these hands, but I feel like I played my best game and shouldve gotten some more out of it. Well like the people on this board say I cant be result oriented and I got to move on. 6th isnt bad I cashed $26 and change, not bad for a $2 investment.

I'm going to take a few days off, from poker, enjoy tomorrow and the next week. Hope everyone has a good fourth! peace

O yea, I know some of you have said that my roll isnt quite big enough for MTTs, but I would like to know what's a good roll to tackle these micro toruneys, I feel like my skill level is good enough to be profitable at them but I dont want to jeporadize my roll.

100 buyins if MTTs are your main game. So you should have $220.

this is true

However, if you are playing sngs as your main roll income then its best that if you have a +$10 or +$20 day ten its ok to take some of that days profit to play an mtt otherwise you are strictly limited to the 100buy in ule for mtts.

gl, hope to see you at the tables.
