I've become convinced that at 10nl, the flop min-bet (either donk or from position) is a HUGE for sale sign on the pot. Example. We have a MP poster (both SB and BB), and both blinds fold to steals (SB ~ 80% over 800 hands, BB ~ 70% over 200 hands). No doubt 32s is not my normal blind stealing hand, but it has a hint of value.

$0.05/$0.1 No Limit Holdem
6 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($7.64)
UTG 1 ($7.01)
CO ($9.69)
Hero ($11.00)
SB ($14.79)
BB ($8.54)
[UTG 1 posted $0.15]

Pre-flop: ($0.30, 6 players) Hero is BTN
1 fold, UTG 1 checks, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.50, 2 folds, UTG 1 calls $0.35

Flop: ($1.15, 2 players)
UTG 1 bets $0.10, Hero raises to $1.05

I was done with the hand until the min-bet. I raise these min-bets about the size of the original pot virtually time - and with air - at least 90% of the time I get a fold.

Reads etc etc...

I just 1/2 it or 2/3'd it. Sometimes it's a monster, or just a hand that villain wil call with... depending on situation about bet sizing though, I mean, I think weaker bets are gettting the job done here alot of the time. IDKIMAFISH

In my experience at 25NL on tilt it is the same. Usually is AK unimproved on the flop from players who are scared. If it goes to the turn and they minbet again, it is time to either shut down or decide if your read is as good as it usually is

Another one is if they minbet two streets and then bet properly on the river - unless you have a decent hand it is time to give up here, they have something kickass.

All imo, of course

I raise these all day too.

I used to just call them, but I had a long stretch where I'd call and then they'd pot the turn. It was really starting to bug me, so to find out what they had i'd raise the flop and like you say 90% of the time you get a fold.

It's fun to call with monsters though, because they tend to think if you just call the flop you have nothing and will play back at you.

Yeah, I see the min-bet flop, min-bet turn, PSB river a good bit, usually when they catch a card on the turn/river.

a lot of these min raisers will fold to any sign of strength.
seems like a smaller raise does the same job if they have nothing and if they wake up with a hand you don't lose a psb

edit: just realized WR said basically the same thing xoxo

@ board ambiguity.

True that this flop is a little too coordinated fer this play in general, tho i agree with the general concepts mentioned.

My point exactly. The board sucks. I've got no hand, and no real chance to make one. I'm done with the hand, ready to fold or check it down, then I see a donk-min-bet. I know from experience that 9 times out of 10 it's free money to just PSB. Then he hangs out the "for sale" sign. So I bought it.

I quit taking notes on who played this way and started taking notes only on those who DIDN'T. It's free money.

By the way, if I had ANY sort of hand at all, I would have played it differently.
