NLH Cash game: Hero and Villain both have 100BB stacks (rounding some stuff off for simplicity)

Folded to me on the button,
- I open with a 4BB bet
- Villain 3-bets 3x my raise, 12BB
- I 4-bet 3x his 3-bet, 36BB
- Villain Pushes for the rest of his stack.

Can someone tell me the pot size in BB after each action, and then what my pot odds are to call after villain's push? Thanks.

The pot size is (assuming you or opp isn't in the blinds)

1.5BB (blinds)+4+12+32+88=137.5

you need to call off your remaining 64BB into a pot of 137.5BB, so you are getting 2.1:1 odds.

The simple way of doing pot odds:

You have 36bb in the pot, and he has his full stack stack. Add the two for the pot size, and ignoring the blinds you have a 136bb pot. You have to call the rest of your stack, which is 64bb.

So to get your pot odds just devide the pot size (136) by what you have to call (64)

136/36 = 2.1, so youre getting 2.1:1

Okay, I saw a post where someone said they were getting 3:1 on that call and I was pretty confused

Is there an easy way to figure out the pot odds when villain pushes a stack that has you more than coverd? A HUD or software thing? For example Full Tilt shows the total $ in the pot, and then takes out the extra after a player calls.

I use Tournament Indicator (http://www.tournamentindicator.com/). Got it free through their promotion by registering to pacific poker and playing like was it 1000 tournament hands.

I believe FTS does it. http://www.dcity.org/poker/fts/ its a major resource hog, though. I cant run it, PT and PAhud at the same time or my PC goes to hell

I don't know if this is new, I've never really noticed it before, but I'm looking at Full Tilt and they actually have two totals. There is one number underneath the pile of chips in the middle, then when someone bets, there is another number under the cards that shows total pot size including the bets (the number under the chips doesn't change).

So, lets say for example there is 1500 in the pot, and I have 500 left. Opp shoves on me for his whole stack of 2348. The pot total under the cards now reads 3848, but it still shows 1500 under the chips in the middle. Since he is effectively only betting the size of my stack (500), I can add my stack to the 1500 that was in the pot for a total of 2000 to me. I then am looking to call 500 into 2000 or 4 to 1 pot odds.

Stars is a little different in that it shows the running pot total (including bets) over the dealer chiprack up at the top of the table, but you can still hover over the chips in the middle and see what is there. Then you can do the same math as above and figure it out.

Of course all of this gets a little complex if there are multiple bets then a push or something like that. For me, its became easier with practice, and figuring my pot odds on the fly is pretty natural now. For really big decisions I just use my time bank and take it slow.
