Post subject: Pot limit hold em

occassionally, i've accidently joined a pot limit table, and played a while without really realising it.
i make more money here. people play mega loose, and don't bet enough to keep out draws, etc etc. how should i adjust my game to play pot limit, because i'm thinking about making the switch for a while.

There is really no change except that there will be more drawing hands because the limit is the pot, but people can bet huge if they hit there draw.

Theres hardly any difference post flop. Check/raising becomes slightly more valuble. I also think position is slightly more valuble because you have less ability to chase out speculative hands preflop. Drawing hands are slightly more valuble on early streets but not quite so much on the turn. The only things you miss really are being able to make chunky preflop raises and occasionally overbet alling postflop.

seems the games are MUCH more loose pre-flop. i notice much higher flop % numbers when trying to find a NL table. sometimes avg pots are much larger, too....indicating people who take hands too far, or are overly aggressive? both good indicators of fishies.
AA/KK have to lose value a bit because of the inability to raise BIG pf. therefore, 67s and gappers have to go up in value WITH POSITION because of the limits in pf raising. yet, you can still play "power poker" post flop with multiple players, as you can now take away odds to continue drawing.
kind of a hybrid game. not quite limit, not quite NL.

pelion, can you elaborate?
i figure the game lends more to draws, which should mean that "limit" principles should apply somewhat. limit principles, at times, apply in NL, too, just require larger bet sizes.

Someone wanted to go from NL to PL would have to make very few adjustments to their game because they should rarely be making any bets larger than pot sized anyway. Obviously PF is a bit different, but cash is a lot about post flop anyway.
